Dedicated to Mission
St. Andrew’s is heavily involved in our immediate and far-reaching communities. If you are interested in taking part in any of our outreach programs, e-mail John for more information.
Aid for Friends: The third Saturday of each month, volunteers gather to prepare and package meals for Aid for Friends from 8:00-11:00am in our parish hall. In 2018, we’ve provided over 10,000 meals to hungry people in the Philadelphia area.
Trenton Area Soup Kitchen: On the first Wednesday and fourth Tuesday of each month, volunteers meet at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (72 Escher Street, Trenton, NJ) from 3:30-4:30pm to serve hot meals. Donations of toiletries, used clothing, socks, and books are accepted at all times in the church vestibule (the entrance area where the coat rack is located).
Penndel Food Pantry: Each Sunday, donations of non-perishables (which many parishioners have brought as part of their weekly offerings for many years) are collected for the Penndel Food Pantry.
Parishioners work in tandem with Bucks County Housing Group to help provide transitional housing for those moving from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Volunteers offer food baskets, school supplies, tutoring services, transportation, and more.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: On the fourth Tuesday of each month, members meet at 1:00pm in the conference room to knit shawls, hats, and scarves. These are distributed for celebrations (baptisms, births); during difficult times (illnesses, losses); or to charities (Seamen’s Church Institute).
Holding Space: On the third Sunday of each month, the Holding Space grief support meets in the church at 4:00pm. All who are dealing with issues (personal or professional), illness, loss, anxiety, anything that may be weighing you down are welcome to share and receive support.
Recovery: St. Andrew’s hosts nearly a dozen support groups throughout the week for AA, ACA, and Al-Anon/Alateen.
St. Andrew’s also contributes to fundraisers and service projects with Heifer International, Habitat for Humanity (including an annual trip to Guatemala), Trenton Rescue Mission, Amnesty International, and Bread for the World.
