Our Music Ministry

Music elevates our souls, enables our worship, and is a vital way that we build community.

A choir group performing in a church with stained glass windows, led by a conductor.
A man playing a piano, wearing glasses, a checkered shirt, a striped bow tie, and a necklace with a cross, in a room with wooden paneling and music sheets.
A choir of people dressed in white robes singing, accompanied by three musicians playing string instruments, in a church with stained glass windows and potted plants on a windowsill.

We have a rich musical tradition that enlivens our Sunday worship and is shared with larger Yardley community through special concerts and events. Our congregation loves to sing!  While we are firmly rooted in the Anglican musical tradition, we enjoy a range of musical styles. We emphasize participatory and diverse worship music that is intentionally taught and led, that elevates the soul, and that expands our horizons.

You’re invited to read more about our Music Minister, Dr. Hannah Carr, and our organist, Leon Burrows. Everyone is welcome in the choir and we’re fortunate to have instrumentalists in the congregation who bring their gifts to worship.

Our Church Choir meets for rehearsals on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 8:15 a.m to sing for the 9:00 a.m. service. The choir is a welcoming community that invites all to join in making music together!

Kids enjoy a time of singing with our Music Minister at the start of 9:00 a.m. Sunday School. They periodically lead a song in worship and also learn the music that enables them to sing along in Sunday services.

St. Andrew’s Church has a 40 rank Möller pipe organ, which was rebuilt by Gil Adams and installed in 2011. We celebrate music as a way of building bridges and relationships in the local community, and drawing people closer to God and to one another.
